Since I have gone back to shiftwork it's been hard to feel like I'm connected to what I used to do with weekends off. A pleasant surprise, though, has been to go out to breakfast with Sue almost every week! We go different places, but our favorite so far has been the East Lake Diner - it's conveniently close and is very nice. We sit and talk about stuff happening, strategize how we're going to handle the kids on certain issues, and plan the events coming up in the next few weeks.
It's a special treat to not have the kids with us, but it still feels weird to be going on a "date" at 8:30am! Oh, well, I guess it's all part of the fun of my new job as a supervisor. Hopefully we'll continue doing this :-)
