Good Thanksgiving

Well, we've had a good Thanksgiving holiday this year. We had Mom Emery (Sue's mother) at our house for the week, and invited some of our "spiritual" family members over for the big feast. Sam came with a load of food to add to the meal, all of which was good, and Barry and Jarin came to be part of the fun. One of our friends had surgery on Tuesday, so we invited the rest of her family over to celebrate with us; having the Harmon girls at our house was a special treat. And Julie, our friend from one of the plays sue was in with the Henry Players, was able to come - she tells such great stories, and it was fun to find out that her and Sam were the same age. They spent an hour reminiscing about high school in the 1960's and all the changes that have come since then. (One of my favorite parts of holidays with friends and families is listening to them share their memories of the past. I love it!)

We all went to the basement to watch Iron Man on the wall screen, which was a lot of fun. And we even did the videophone thing with my brother and his family out in Oregon - it was good to see Mom and Dad on the screen for a couple of minutes.

We took Mom Emery home on Friday, and since she is giving up driving we brought her car back to Georgia with us. I'm trying to make it clear that thiss will be a "family car" and not Jacob's car - we've always maintained that the kids have to buy their own vehicles, so this should be an interesting experience :-)

We're looking forward to the next few busy weeks, too. Christmas is always a lot of fun, and with two teenagers and a activity-wanting wife I'm sure we'll be busy. Please pray for us :-)
